E. Suzanne Darling
Vice President, Client Service, Legal Compliance

Suzanne Darling is a senior executive with extensive knowledge and experience in Unclaimed Property Law. Suzanne has substantial experience drafting and advocating legislation, reviewing unclaimed property and claims processing procedures, and litigating property matters.

Suzanne is responsible for reviewing, and writing responses to Request for Proposals (RFPs). She also serves as the states’ contact for questions regarding policy and administration, as well as, recommendations on “best practices.”

As former counsel to the Virginia treasurer and a 20+ year veteran of the Virginia Department of Law, Suzanne provided day-to-day legal advice on many issues affecting the Commonwealth’s unclaimed property program.

Suzanne served as the representative of the National Association of Unclaimed Property Administrators (NAUPA) in the Conference of Commissioners on Uniform State Laws’ formulation of the 1995 Uniform Unclaimed Property Act, and was instrumental in Virginia’s adoption of revised legislation.

Suzanne earned a B.A. from University of Richmond with Departmental Honors, Magna Cum Laude, and Phi Beta Kappa. Suzanne also earned a J.D. from the T.C. Williams School of Law at the University of Richmond.
